Automatic restoration is a risky task and must be handled with care. Depending on the backup method chosen, restoring a backup has to be done by the user on the selected database server. Some backups require the operating system’s super-user privileges to get restored correctly.
Nevertheless, the following things are required before we can perform the restoration:
1. The backup must exist on the target node. Otherwise, download the backup to the server first. See Backups.
2. To restore a physical backup, you must have access as a super-user to the server, to replace files and directories, assign permission and ownership and also to restart/reload the database service.
To restore a backup, firstly select a backup under Backups → expand the row → Actions → Restore.
